- 4 / 5By Gary SmithA great old roadhouse originally built in the 1920's, Breezy Heights Tavern has been operated by the same family since 1954! Although famous locally for its Broasted Chicken, the menu was the five-fingered variety (chicken, pizza, hamburger, cheeseburger, potato wedges), until the early 90's when it was expanded to pastas, steak and other American-Italian foods.
Food and portion size is very good and pricing is moderate. Ambiance is great, the side booths offer privacy and a scenic view of the rolling farmland surrounding Breezy's. Check out the mural on the wall that surrounds the entire restaurant. Done in the 30's, it represents man's pursuits of both labor and leisure (a little high-brow for a former coal-town area, but it's pretty cool).
